Event Description:
The Heart of Texas Historians and Storytellers will be hosting their 7th annual event on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at the new McCulloch County Library Community Room beginning at 2:00 PM. This year the group is excited to host Tumbleweed Smith, a seasoned communicator who has spent a lifetime fostering his love of history and sharing it across Texas and beyond. He began his “Sounds of Texas” radio show in 1969 and is observing its 50th year on the air. Tumbleweed has interviewed countless individuals across Texas (including Brady) and has assembled the largest private collection of oral history in the United States. He is the writer of a newspaper column, syndicated to Texas publications since 1986 and is an award-winning producer of audio and video productions. In his spare time, Tumbleweed has taught writing and broadcasting at the university and college level for many years. Please join us for a unique, one-of-a-kind presentation filled with timeless and relevant humor, folksy wisdom, and all-around great entertainment.
